What is the Wealthy Affiliate scam?

In this post I’m going pull back the curtain and explore the Wealthy Affiliate so called Scam, so you can decide for yourself from the facts presented – is it a scam or not? Firstly, lets look at the word Scam! by definition.

It’s a dishonest, illegal plan or activity for making money, especially one that involves tricking people.

Well, the world and the internet are full of scams, I think I get rogue emails a couple of times a week. I also had a scam phone call whilst writing this post. Scams are everywhere, it is getting to the point where people come across more scams than legitimate things, but unfortunately, it is now part of our lives, part of the world we live in and it’s here to stay.

 

 

 

What can we do to avoid a scam?

A friend of mine always says, ‘listen to your gut instinct’. A lot of scams work on our ‘feelings and fear’. Fear of doing something wrong or getting into trouble, fear of missing out, fear of not doing something at that moment.

Another saying is: ‘If something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is’

Have I lost money or been scammed? Absolutely! Luckily for me, not too much as I’m very cautious and I like to do some research and ask questions. Any true legitimate organisation should be eager to answer all of your questions as they want to prove how true and real they are. They should also be contactable. Find out who owns the site or business. I’ve come across a few suspect ones.

If you are venturing into the online world expect the unexpected, be cautious, ask yourself many questions and take your time. I hate those emails or promotions saying if you don’t buy now – it is gone forever!!!!!!!!!

Only to see it re-appear a week later. These might not be scams, but you still should be cautious of them and question things. It is usually when you let your guard down, when something unexpected happens. I probably drive support teams mad because I ask so many questions. But at least you know they are real and you can ask more direct answers rather than reading a nicely crafted sales information page specific to the audience.

Will I get paid even for little effort?

I hear this a lot being banded around. ‘Get paid for very little effort’ Easy to set up in two minutes and you are ready to go!

What a load of rubbish!!!! There we go again, playing on our feelings. The only problem is that people are lazy, or they have good intention but then give up. How do I know this, because I’m one of them. The only difference is I don’t give up, which eventually stops me from being lazy.

The Wealthy Affiliate program offers recurring referral commissions, to both Starter (FREE) and Premium Members, but if you think that just by joining up will make the money come rolling in, then think again! Like any legitimate business, it takes effort, determination and hard work to make things successful.

 

It’s quite natural to look for an easy answer, why wouldn’t you – you wouldn’t look for the hardest way to do something.

The problem is, there is no easy answer – that’s what I have realised. You have to treat it as a business. Unless you are really lucky, you may earn something early on, but from my experience that doesn’t happen. You have to take it seriously if you want to succeed. If you want an easy fix, just look for the scams, they get paid for very little effort.

I have a saying, ‘it only gets easy the more effort you put in.’ Pretty much all of the successful people online have gone through some kind of struggle during their time online. It’s a massive learning curve but can be very rewarding if you stick at it.

 

Well! What is the Wealthy Affiliate Scam after all?

To answer the question, I’m still looking…. They have been established 14 years plus which is a massive plus in my opinion. Proving it’s a long established platform with a good track record. The owners Kyle and Carson are also active users themselves on the platform. I myself have spoken to Kyle through his private message chat and he’s always happy to help. The community is fantastic, always supporting and helping each other.

The main downside that I can see for Wealthy Affiliate, is the amount of training and information – it can seem a little overwhelming sometimes, but just remember all you need to do is ask for help. Rome wasn’t built in a day so you really need to stick at something to get the most out of it.
